Lychee Martini

This is a drink enjoyed by myself and made many times of a very dear friend, Nass. It was initially enjoyed at a Bar in Melbourne called the Golden Monkey. Canberra have their own version - a Cocktail Bar called Muddles. Given we live in Sydney, and we had exhausted a lot of the cocktails bars, I decided it was time to experiment at home. It only took one attempt and the end result - Divine...

Lychee Martini

Ingredients:
2 Fresh Lychees
2 Shots Vodka (Ciroc, recommended but not essential - a very smooth Vodka made from 2 types of Grapes grown in the Cognac region of France)
1 Shot of Lychee Liquor
1/2 cup Lychee Syrup

Method:
Place one Lychee in the base of 2 chilled Martini Glasses.
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain over the glasses and fill the Martini glasses.

Spanish Sangria

Having lived in Spain from the age of 10 until 26, I was lucky enough to have at my finger tips endless Spanish Sangria. When I moved overseas and visited Spanish Restaurants, they never quite matched up - at least not for my own personal taste. So once again, I experimented by taking the basics from Spain and adding some person flavors. This one has a kick but its great for those summer days sitting in the sun.

Spanish Sangria

Ingredients:
1/2 Bottle Red Wine
1/4 Cup Vodka
Dash of Brandy
1 Cup Lemonade
1 Cup Orange Juice
Dash of Lime Cordial
Ice
1 Fresh Apple, sliced
1 Fresh Orange, Sliced
1 Fresh Lemon, Sliced

Method: Place all of the above into a seving jug filled with Ice, mix well and serve.
